Inspired by Ukko, the northern god of thunder, Ukko Works manufactures its products with Finnish determination and resilience, designed to withstand even the most demanding conditions. Ukko Works

The history of Ukko Works brings with it comprehensive, long-standing experience. Our workshop operations began in 1967, and behind Ukko Works are experienced, established companies such as Potila and Kiikoisten Konepaja.

Ukko Works currently employs 26 people and operates both in Finland and internationally. Our activities are primarily focused on infrastructure construction (power line structures, road structures, and railway structures) as well as the manufacturing of steel structures.

Ukko SolarSystem

Clean energy from the sun

Ukko SolarSystem is a Finnish-made single-axis solar tracking system designed specifically for northern conditions, maximizing the efficiency of solar power production. It is easily scalable for solar farms of different sizes, making it a flexible solution for both smaller projects and large-scale solar power plants.

Ukko SolarSystem increases the electricity output of solar panels, meaning fewer panels are needed to produce more energy. By generating electricity more evenly throughout the day, the system can increase annual solar yield by up to 45% compared to fixed installations.

Stone Power – Rock Drilling Machines

Ukko Works also manufactures machine frames and carries out machining and assembly for industrial equipment. One of the most advanced products we produce is the unmanned Stone Power rock drilling machine. You can learn more about these machines here.

Stone Spider

Stone Spider is the largest drilling rig in the Stone Power range, weighing 14.5 tons. Spider is suitable for a wide variety of general excavation and quarrying applications. Customers can choose the drilling equipment that best suits their needs.

Stone Scorpion

Stone Scorpion is a drilling rig designed for a wide range of general excavation and quarrying applications. Thanks to its extensive coverage area, long-reaching boom system, 350° rotating upper carriage, and oscillating undercarriage, the rig delivers exceptional efficiency and versatility.

Stone Termite

Stone Termite is a radio-controlled hydraulic drilling rig. Weighing only 6,150 kg, Stone Termite can operate in locations where larger machines cannot access due to size or load-bearing limitations. Typical applications include trench excavation, foundation excavation, dimension stone quarries, and rock bolting drilling. Its tracked undercarriage ensures excellent mobility even on demanding drilling sites.

We favor Finnish subcontractors and raw materials, and we trust in domestic quality. From a logistics perspective, locally sourced products place a significantly lower burden on the environment than goods transported across oceans.

Quality Standards

Quality and Professional Pride

We continuously train our personnel and develop our operations. All legal obligations and responsibilities are fully in order. We take pride in the expertise, experience, and know-how of our staff.

Our workshop is certified according to EN 1090-1 by Inspecta Sertifiointi Oy. The certification authorizes us to apply CE marking to steel structures and to manufacture according to execution classes EXC1 and EXC2.

Our operations are also certified to international quality standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

We develop our operations

We have launched a development initiative with the goal of moving away from traditional industrial operating models and building a new, modern way of working. The aim is to create a renewed company culture based on collaboration, shared practices, and a strong “working together” mindset.

We are also focused on improving productivity capabilities and integrating responsibility as a key part of our operations. The project is carried out in small groups and workshops, ensuring active participation from the entire organization.

The initiative is supported by the Finnish Work Environment Fund (Työsuojelurahasto). The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
